Fuensanta ist Sängerin, Kontrabassistin, Improvisatorin und Komponistin – geboren und aufgewachsen in Mexiko und ansässig in Amsterdam. Sie arbeitet hauptsächlich mit ihrem neunköpfigen Ensamble Grande – eine aufsehenerregende Formation aus Stimmen, Trommeln, Bläsern und Perkussion. Eine Hommage an ihre Kindheit und Jugend im Regenwald von Veracruz: bunt, schön, brutal und rau. Die Musik des Ensembles wurzelt in Poesie und Folklore und ein großer Teil wird der Improvisation überlassen. Das macht die Kompositionen beeindruckend exakt und lebendig zugleich. Der bisherige Höhepunkt des musikalischen Universums dieser faszinierenden Musikerin.
